Blubrry offers three ways to publish podcast episodes. Your best option depends on whether you want to publish from the Blubrry dashboard, a WordPress website, or a YouTube playlist.
| Publishing method | Best for |
|---|---|
| Blubrry Publisher | Publishing directly from the Blubrry dashboard |
| PowerPress | Publishing from a WordPress website |
| Vid2Pod | Turning videos from a YouTube playlist into podcast episodes |
Blubrry Publisher
Choose Blubrry Publisher if you want to manage and publish your podcast directly from the Blubrry dashboard.
You can upload media, create episodes, manage your show settings, and generate your podcast RSS feed. Blubrry Publisher also generates players you can embed on a website hosted elsewhere.
Blubrry Publisher is a good choice if:
- You don't want to manage a WordPress website.
- You want a straightforward publishing workflow.
- You want to manage your show and episodes from the Blubrry dashboard.
- You already have a website built on another platform.
To begin, see Getting Started with Blubrry Publisher.
PowerPress for WordPress
Choose PowerPress if you want to manage and publish your podcast from a WordPress website.
PowerPress works with self-hosted WordPress sites, Blubrry WordPress websites (offered as Free Blubrry WordPress Website when you set up a show), and WordPress.com sites on a plan that supports plugins. We recommend a self-hosted WordPress site or a Blubrry WordPress website, because WordPress.com restricts plugin behavior on some plans.
With PowerPress, your WordPress posts become podcast episodes, and your website generates the podcast RSS feed.
PowerPress is a good choice if:
- You already have or want a WordPress website.
- You want to publish your website content and podcast episodes together.
- You want your podcast RSS feed to use your website's domain.
- You want greater control over your website and publishing workflow.
To begin, see Getting Started with PowerPress.
Vid2Pod
Choose Vid2Pod if you publish videos on YouTube and want to make them available as an audio podcast.
Vid2Pod monitors a selected YouTube playlist and converts its videos into audio podcast episodes. It creates an RSS feed that you can submit to podcast directories and listening platforms. Vid2Pod produces audio episodes only — it does not create video podcast episodes.
Vid2Pod is a good choice if:
- You publish your primary content on YouTube.
- You want to offer an audio version of your videos.
- You want new videos from a selected playlist to become podcast episodes automatically.
To begin, see Getting Started with Vid2Pod.
