You can delete a media file from your Blubrry media hosting subscription, or replace one with an updated version. You do not need to delete a file before replacing it.
Delete a media file
- Log in to your Blubrry Podcaster Dashboard.
- Select Media Files in the left menu. Your uploaded files are listed here.
- Find the file you want to delete and click the trash can icon to its right, under Actions.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Yes, delete. To keep the file, click Cancel instead.
Warning: Deleting a media file is permanent and cannot be undone. If a published episode uses that file, deleting it will leave that episode with no audio for your listeners. Check that the file isn't in use before deleting it.
The file is permanently removed from your Blubrry media hosting subscription.
Replace a media file
Important: The new file must have exactly the same name as the one it replaces, including capitalization. Replacing episode01.mp3 with Episode01.mp3 won't work — Blubrry treats any difference, even a single character, as a new file rather than a replacement.
- Log in to your Blubrry Podcaster Dashboard.
- Select Media Files in the left menu.
- Click Upload New Media at the top of the page.
- Drag the new file into the window, or click Select File to locate it on your device.
- When the upload finishes, the new file appears at the top of your file list marked Offline. Click Make online next to the filename, under Actions.
After the new file is uploaded, it will appear at the top of your file list. To replace the old file with this new version, click on the Make Online link located next to the filename under the Actions header. This completes the process; no further action is required from you.
Please note that the updated media file won’t be immediately accessible, as there is a delay while the new file clears the caching on Blubrry’s global CDN. If listeners are still receiving the old file well after you'd expect, contact Blubrry Support.
