You can move an existing podcast to Blubrry using PowerPress on a WordPress website. PowerPress imports your show information and episodes from your current podcast feed, and your WordPress site generates your new podcast feed.
Keep your current hosting service active until the move is complete and your old podcast feed redirects to your new feed.
Before you begin
You will need:
- The podcast feed URL from your current host
- Access to your current hosting account
- A WordPress website with the Blubrry PowerPress plugin installed and connected to your Blubrry account

Your podcast feed URL is the web address podcast apps use to receive your show and episodes. Contact your current host if you need help finding it.
If you want to keep statistics or other account information from your current host, download or record it before moving. Historical statistics do not transfer between hosting providers.
Import your existing podcast
- In PowerPress Get Started, select Import RSS Feed.
- Enter the podcast feed URL from your current host.
- Leave Advanced Options unchanged unless you understand what they do.
- Select Import Podcast and wait for the import to finish.
- Review the imported program information and episodes.
- Select Continue.
Check your new podcast feed
- In PowerPress, open the Feeds tab and confirm your feed settings are correct.
- Open your new podcast feed in a browser.
- Confirm that the podcast title, description, artwork, and other show information are correct.
- Confirm that the expected episodes appear.
- Play several older and newer episodes.
Correct any problems before continuing.
Find your new podcast feed URL
Your new feed is generated by your WordPress website, so it uses your own domain. You'll need this URL for the redirect — see Where is my podcast feed URL? if you're not sure where to find it in PowerPress.
Redirect your old podcast feed
A permanent feed redirect — also called a 301 redirect — sends podcast apps and existing subscribers from your old feed to your new PowerPress feed. Without one, your subscribers stay pointed at the old feed and stop receiving new episodes.
You set this up with your previous host, not with Blubrry. Your host may call it a 301 redirect, feed redirect, or feed forwarding.

Redirect steps and policies are set by each host and can change. Confirm the current details with your host before you begin. If your host isn't listed above, contact them and ask how to set up a 301 redirect to a new feed URL.
Confirm the redirect
After saving the redirect:
- Open your old RSS feed URL in a browser.
- Confirm that it redirects to your new PowerPress feed URL.
- Check your show in major podcast apps.
- Confirm that the show information and episodes still appear correctly.
Podcast apps may require time to recognize the feed change.
Do not submit the new feed as a separate podcast if your show is already listed in podcast directories. Submitting it again may create duplicate listings.
Before canceling your previous hosting service
Do not cancel your previous service until:
- Your show information and episodes appear correctly in PowerPress
- Several imported episodes play correctly
- Your old feed redirects to your new PowerPress feed
- Your existing podcast listings continue to display the show correctly
If you are moving from RSS.com: RSS.com's redirect works only while your subscription is active — cancelling stops it. RSS.com recommends keeping your subscription for 45 to 90 days after moving.
Some hosts keep your redirect in place permanently after you close your account and others do not. Check the table above, and confirm with your host before cancelling.
