You can move an existing podcast to Blubrry Publisher using the podcast feed from your current host. Blubrry imports your show information, artwork, episodes, and media files during setup.
Keep your current hosting service active until the move is complete and your old podcast feed redirects to Blubrry.
Before you begin
You will need:
- The podcast feed URL from your current host
- Access to your current hosting account
- Your podcast artwork, if it cannot be imported
Your podcast feed URL is the web address podcast apps use to receive your show and episodes. Contact your current host if you need help finding it.
If you want to keep statistics or other account information from your current host, download or record it before moving. Historical statistics do not transfer between hosting providers.
Choose a Blubrry hosting plan
- Sign in to your Blubrry account.
- Select Add New Show.
- Choose a podcast hosting plan and complete checkout.
- On the confirmation page, select Start Setup.
The page may continue automatically to Get Your Podcast Set Up after a few seconds.
Choose Blubrry Publisher
On the Get Your Podcast Set Up page:
- Select Blubrry Publisher.
- Select Next.
Blubrry Publisher lets you manage and publish your podcast directly from the Blubrry Podcaster Dashboard.
Import your existing podcast
- Select Moving a Podcast.
- Enter the podcast feed URL from your current host.
- Select Next.
Blubrry uses the feed to import your podcast information and existing episodes.
Review your show information
Review the information imported from your current podcast feed, including:
- Podcast title
- Author or artist
- Show description
- Category
- Language
Correct or complete any missing information, then select Next.
Confirm your podcast artwork
Review the artwork imported from your current feed. If the correct artwork appears, select Next. If no artwork was found, or you want to replace it, upload the artwork you want to use.
Artwork must be a square JPG or PNG between 1400 × 1400 and 3000 × 3000 pixels, in RGB color space, with no Apple or Spotify branding. See Podcast Directory Requirements for full details.
Continue through the final setup steps
Because your imported podcast already contains an episode, the next page should display Podcast Ready.
Select Next to continue. You may then be offered the option to submit your podcast to Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
If your podcast is already listed on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, select Skip. Do not submit it as a new podcast — submitting again may create duplicate listings. Your existing listings will be updated through the feed redirect you set up with your previous host.
Continue to the final setup page, then select Open Dashboard.
Find your new Blubrry podcast feed
Before leaving your previous host, find and copy your new Blubrry feed URL:
- From the Blubrry Podcaster Dashboard, go to Show > Manage.
- Find the Podcast Feed URL.
- Copy the feed URL.
You will give this URL to your previous podcast host.
Check your new podcast feed
Before setting up the redirect:
- Open your new podcast feed in a browser.
- Confirm that the podcast title, description, artwork, and other show information are correct.
- Confirm that the expected episodes appear.
- Play several older and newer episodes.
Correct any problems before continuing.
Redirect your old podcast feed
A permanent feed redirect — also called a 301 redirect — sends podcast apps and existing subscribers from your old feed to your new Blubrry feed. Without one, your subscribers stay pointed at the old feed and stop receiving new episodes.
You set this up with your previous host, not with Blubrry. Your host may call it a 301 redirect, feed redirect, or feed forwarding.

Redirect steps and policies are set by each host and can change. Confirm the current details with your host before you begin. If your host isn't listed above, contact them and ask how to set up a 301 redirect to a new feed URL.
Confirm the redirect
After saving the redirect:
- Open your old RSS feed URL in a browser.
- Confirm that it redirects to your new Blubrry feed URL.
- Check your show in major podcast apps.
- Confirm that the show information and episodes still appear correctly.
Podcast apps may require time to recognize the feed change.
Before canceling your previous hosting service
Do not cancel your previous service until:
- Your show information and episodes appear correctly in Blubrry
- Several imported episodes play correctly
- Your old feed redirects to your new Blubrry feed
- Your existing podcast listings continue to display the show correctly
If you are moving from RSS.com: RSS.com's redirect works only while your subscription is active — cancelling stops it. RSS.com recommends keeping your subscription for 45 to 90 days after moving.
Some hosts keep your redirect in place permanently after you close your account and others do not. Check the table above, and confirm with your host before cancelling.
