Move Your Podcast from Spreaker to Blubrry

Move your existing podcast from Spreaker to Blubrry without creating a new directory listing or asking current subscribers to resubscribe.

The process has three main parts:

1. Import your podcast into Blubrry.
2. Confirm that the new feed and episodes work correctly.
3. Redirect your Spreaker feed to the new feed.

Do not add the redirect or cancel your Spreaker service until you have completed the import and verified your new podcast feed.

Before you begin

You will need:

• Access to your Spreaker account
• Your current Spreaker RSS feed URL
• An active Blubrry Podcast Hosting plan
• The new RSS feed URL you will use after the move

If you want to retain your Spreaker statistics or other account information, download or record it before moving. Historical statistics do not transfer between hosting providers.

Import your podcast

Follow the instructions for your Blubrry publishing method:

• To publish from the Blubrry dashboard, follow [Move Your Podcast to Blubrry Publisher].
• To publish from WordPress, follow [Import an Existing Podcast into PowerPress].

Complete the entire import process before adding a redirect in Spreaker.

Check your new podcast feed

Before redirecting the Spreaker feed:

1. Open your new podcast feed in a browser.
2. Confirm that the podcast title, description, artwork, and other show information are correct.
3. Confirm that the expected episodes appear.
4. Play several older and newer episodes.
5. Make sure the episode media files are being delivered from the correct location.

Correct any problems before continuing.

Redirect your Spreaker feed

A permanent feed redirect tells podcast apps and subscribers that your podcast has moved to a new RSS feed.

To add the redirect:

1. Sign in to Spreaker and open its Content Management System.
2. Select the podcast you are moving.
3. Open RSS Settings.
4. Enable the Redirect Field option.
5. Enter your new Blubrry Publisher or PowerPress RSS feed URL in the New Feed URL field.
6. Save your changes.

Spreaker’s current information about redirects is available in Podcast settings on your Spreaker RSS feed.

Confirm the redirect

After saving the redirect:

1. Open your old Spreaker RSS feed URL in a browser.
2. Confirm that it redirects to your new feed URL.
3. Check your show in major podcast apps.
4. Confirm that the show information and episodes still appear correctly.
5. Play several episodes to make sure the media files work.

Podcast apps may require time to recognize the feed change.

Do not submit the new feed as a separate podcast if your show is already available in podcast directories. Submitting it again may create duplicate listings.

Before closing your Spreaker account

Do not close your Spreaker account until:

• The podcast has been imported successfully
• The new feed contains the correct show information and episodes
• The old Spreaker feed redirects to the new feed
• The show continues to update and play correctly in podcast apps

Before canceling your Spreaker service, confirm with Spreaker that the redirect will remain active after the account or subscription is closed.
